Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s football first-team head coach, reflected on the 2021-2022 CAF Champions League draw, which was held on Tuesday at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.

Following the draw, the South African coach conveyed his thoughts on having Al Ahly placed alongside Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and both Sudanese sides Al Hilal and Al Merrikh in the same group.

“It won’t be an easy group. We have Sundowns, Al Hilal, and Al Merrikh who are all experienced in the CAF Champions League. We have a lot of difficult games to play, as all the other three teams will be looking to qualify from the group,” said Mosimane. 

Mosimane was an honorary guest on the sidelines of the event and participated in the draw.

Prior to the draw, Mosimane expressed his happiness to be coaching Al Ahly and to take part in the event.

“I am at a club which won ten the title ten times. Our fans always expect us to win all the competitions we compete in.  I am very proud and honored to have won the last two CAF Champions League titles with Al Ahly,” stated Mosimane.
